Cool down (juicing for menopause)

Menopause occurs when the amount of hormones oestrogen and prostegerone produced by the ovaries decreases. It can be very stressful for women, as menopause may cause irritability, hot flushes, mood swings, headaches, night sweats, vaginal dryness, loss of libido and anxiety.

Beetroot is a rich source of folate which can help to protect the heart, and, together with carrots, helps to regulate hormones.
Yam provides the hormone progesterone, which helps to replace the hormones lost when menopause occurs.

A juice very rich in viatmin A and C, iron, folic acid and folate.


Ingredients:

175g carrot
100g beetroot
175g yam or sweet potato
125g fennel

Preparation:

Juice all the ingredients.
Mix well and serve in a glass with ice cubes.
Decorate with fennel fronds.
