Basic brown bread (breadmachine)

Ingredients:
  • 350ml  water
  • 250g strong plain wholemeal four
  • 250g strong plain white flour
  • 1 tbsp skimmed milk powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 25g butter, diced
  • 1 tsp fast-action dried yeast
Preparation:

Pour the water into the bread into bread pan. Sprinkle over each tpe of flour in turn, covering the water completely.
Sprinkle the milk powder over the flour.
Place the salt, sugar and butter in separate corners of the pan.
Make a small indent in the centre of the flour and add the yeast.
Close the lid, set the machine to "Basic White"/"Normal" or "Wholewheat" or equivalent, then select the loaf size and crust type. Press Start.
After baking, remove the bread pan from the machine and turn the loaf out onto a wire rack to cool.
Serve in slices.
